Kemika Group certifications, achieved thanks to constant commitment in improving the production system and the products offered
EU Ecolabel is a voluntary environmental label (Type I, according to ISO 14024) based on a system of strict criteria defined on a scientific basis.
This European Union eco-quality label distinguishes products and services that, while ensuring high-performance standards, are characterized by environmental aspects that cut across production throughout their entire life cycle, such as the use of energy, water, chemicals and waste production.
Kemika Group has many Ecolabel certified products in categories such as:
- Dishwashing detergents
- Products for cleaning hard surfaces
- Industrial or professional dishwasher detergents
- Laundry detergents for industrial or professional use
The Bio C.E.Q. standard is an innovative standard that requires the complete vegetable origin (renewable sources) of all surfactants and solvents present in the formulations of cleaning products. It also requires the absence of heavy metals, phosphorus and allergenic compounds and prohibits animal testing of all raw materials used in formulations.
It represents a constant commitment to nature, aiming to preserve it for future generations.
Kemika Group has several products with dual certification: Bio C.E.Q. / Ecolabel.
The Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) are environmental requirements defined by specific Italian ecological quality regulations, including products not covered by the Ecolabel certification.
All products with Type I labels (such as Ecolabel), all disinfectants registered as Medical-Surgical Devices or Biocides, some super-concentrated detergents for routine maintenance and products for the periodic cleaning and treatment of surfaces automatically comply with the CAM standard, even if not labeled with Type I certification.
The required criteria ensure high-performance standards and always guarantee a reduced environmental impact.
Disinfectants that fall under the category of Presidi Medico Chirurgici (PMC, according to DPR 392/1998) are products intended to reduce or eliminate pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi). These must be registered with the Italian Ministry of Health and comply with specific regulations to ensure their effectiveness and safety. They are used in healthcare settings (hospitals, clinics, medical offices) but also in domestic or commercial environments where deep cleaning and protection against infections are necessary.
As known, the transition to EU Regulation 528/2012 is underway, under which PMCs will be re-evaluated, authorized, and marketed as biocidal products to ensure the effectiveness of these disinfectants on an even larger scale. Kemika Group offers a wide range of PMC certified products and it has already begun registering some of them as biocides, alongside others currently sold freely.
Limiting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by reducing carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere is a common goal aimed at combating the well-known climate changes that threaten the life of our planet.
The Carbon Footprint of Product is a measure that determines the total emissions of these gases, generally expressed in kilograms or tons of CO₂ equivalent, directly or indirectly associated with the entire life cycle of a product, from cradle to grave, from the production of raw materials to the disposal of the finished product.
KEMIKA obtained the Carbon Footprint of Product certification in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 14067:2018 standard and it’s increasing the calculation of CFP for more of its products, monitoring and gradually improving its environmental impact for more sustainable development.
It is worth noting that in the new CAM decree (see point D, letter f), this certification is considered a rewarding criterion in tenders.
